Interception

Statement

This series of surreal collages explores the fragile nature of childhood innocence disrupted by trauma. By blending reality and fantasy, the works create scenes that are both playful and unsettling. Children appear in worlds shaped by war, political unrest, and catastrophe, their presence revealing vulnerability alongside resilience. Through these juxtapositions, the series examines the tension between wonder and fear, imagination and harsh reality.

The collages blur the line between memory and experience, inviting viewers to reconsider how childhood is lived and remembered. Shadows of trauma coexist with moments of curiosity and joy, suggesting that growth and resilience are inseparable from uncertainty and danger. In this way, the work illuminates the complex landscape of early life, where innocence and awareness are constantly intertwined.
